What’s the best way for an English speaker to learn Spanish?

learn spanish
moonkitty84 asked:

I’m going to admit that I’m terrible at learning other languages, but I love to hear them spoken, even if I have no idea of what they are saying, and I really want to learn Spanish. I’m taking Spanish I this semester, but I want to be able to speak and understand it well. I know this will take time, but I can be patience. Anyone has any tips that may help?

live in Spanish. & stick to it. Watch the spanish channel, go to spanish answers and try to figure what they are asking…maybe even answer in spanish. My husband learned spanish by living in spain. He HAD to learn…so he did.

Hook up with someone who is fluent in spanish. It is the best way to practice and also to understand the proper pronunciation.

Practice with someone who already knows the language. I am Puertorican and my man is British. I am teaching him Spanish. I have him practice with me and he does very well. Get some books and Cd’s or DVDs. Listen and repeat several times until you get it right and understand what is said. Good luck!

You should practice using the Cormier method, a language exchange method that has been proven for over 3 years at the C.E.L.M. school in Montreal, Canada.

    Good luck.
